《神韵金陵》中的很多题材如明孝陵、明故宫、夫子庙、秦淮河等等，都是人们在生活里司空见惯的，如何让观众对这些熟悉的“南京符号”有耳目一新的感觉，成了一个难题。“因此我们只能提取这些素材中的结构、质感等局部的东西，重新加工提炼。

美轮美奂的服装是《神韵金陵》的一大看点。据悉，光演出服就制作了1100多件，总价值超过了100万元。最重的一件衣服有20斤。记者在排练现场目睹了“一江春水”篇章中的一幕《李煜独舞》，宽大的舞台上，金色的蟠龙浮雕柱横列两排气势恢弘，背景是幽静的天空悬挂着一轮孤月，“问君能有几多愁，恰似一江春水向东流”……韵味悠长的音乐、“李后主”如痴如醉的舞姿让人身临其境。随后鱼贯而出的南唐仕女婀娜多姿，粉红色的纱衣上缀满亮片珠花，高耸的发髻头饰在忽明忽暗的灯光照射下灿若云霞，让人眼花缭乱，真是一场视觉上的盛宴。
